Nikki Glaser describes awkward Tom Brady encounter as he bolted roast

Nikki Glaser said Tom Brady didn’t attend the afterparty following his Netflix roast because he was probably upset about some of the jokes about him losing his family.

Glaser, who was a part of the lineup of comedians that roasted the former quarterback on Sunday, explained that she ran into Brady after the roast and that he was “out of there” after being trolled all night about his divorce with supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

“It’s hard. That’s why Brady — Brady didn’t go to the after party, like he was out of there,” Glaser said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Thursday. “He probably had something to do because he’s a busy guy.

“He was on his way out and I ran into him in the hallway and just said ‘hey, thanks for having me again.’ We didn’t meet him before the show. I only met him after I got done with my set and gave him a hug and said thank you after telling him horrible things about himself.’

“… Really quickly, he just goes, ‘you did a great job. Good luck with everything,’ which is pretty much saying ‘I’ll never see you again and don’t even try to contact me. Have a good life.'”

Glaser — who specifically trolled Brady about Bündchen moving on with her jujitsu coach, Joaquim Valente — explained why it’s hard to stick around after being the butt of jokes at a roast.

“He was out of there because I know what it’s like. You go into these things and you go, it’s not really going to offend me,” she said. “I kind of know everything that’s fair game for them to say about me.

“But I’m also on the other side of this and studying these people and thinking, ‘what’s the worst way I can hurt them,’ and I don’t think he thought we were going to say things about him losing his family. I think that’s one he didn’t predict.

“And the truth is, he didn’t lose his family. He is a great father. That was obviously hyperbole. He lost his wife… So I feel like he was a little pissed off about that but he literally could’ve had somewhere to go.”

Brady and Bündchen were married for 13 years before they split, announcing in October 2022 that they finalized their divorce.

They share two kids: daughter Vivian, 11, and 14-year-old son Ben.

“But I will say that afterwards, yes, it [the jokes] does stay with you,” Glaser said. “In the moment you laugh and it doesn’t sink in because you’re on camera and you just have to look like I’m going with it. But later on when you close our eyes at night those kind of jokes circle back around and you make an appointment with your injection person to fix the things in your face that made you look like a horse, or whatever they called you.”

Brady was a good sport during the three-hour Netflix roast, which featured his former Patriots teammates Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, coach Bill Belichick, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

At the end, the seven-time Super Bowl winner took the stage to return some jokes, and was all smiles while at the podium.

The only joke Brady seemed to have a problem with, was when comedian Jeff Ross brought up Kraft’s massage history.
