‘Yellowstone’ officially ending amid feud rumors, ‘sequel’ series confirmed

Saddle up the horses for one last ride.

It’s official: “Yellowstone” is ending this fall. At least, in its current incarnation.

On Friday, Paramount announced that “Yellowstone” will end with the second half of Season 5, which will premiere in November.

This news comes amid rumors flying of a feud between creator Taylor Sheridan, 52, and star Kevin Costner, 68, who was apparently “stunned” by his wife filing for divorce.

However, that’s not all. Right after the ending of “Yellowstone” premieres, there will be a “sequel series.”

The network has not yet revealed the title, cast or plot details of the “sequel series,” but it will premiere in December, immediately following the ending of “Yellowstone.”

It’s likely that “Yellowstone” stars such as Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will be in it, and it’s probable that this is the “Yellowstone” show that will star Matthew McConaughey. But that hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

“Yellowstone” has followed the family saga of the Duttons, led by John Dutton (Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the US, as they deal with everything from business rivals to a bordering Indian reservation.

John’s adult kids include Kayce (Luke Grimes), Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Beth (Reilly). Beth’s husband, Rip Wheeler (Hauser) is also a key player.

According to Paramount, the first half of Season 5 drew in an eye-popping 17 million viewers.

Despite its popularity, the show has been largely snubbed by awards such as the Emmys and Golden Globes.

“It’s just the matter of opinion of each particular academy. I know we are a success because the people are watching it,” Bentley previously said

But, Costner finally won the Golden Globe this year for playing John Dutton.

The ending of “Yellowstone” has been filled with drama thanks to the rumored feud.

One source claimed that Sheridan and Costner’s falling-out was Sheridan’s fault, because the showrunner developed a “God complex” amid his success.

“Only Taylor truly knows what is going on,” a source told The Post. “Taylor spent years not being truly appreciated in Hollywood, and now that he’s the top of the heap, there’s definitely some ego to all of this.”

However, other reports placed the blame for the behind-the-scenes drama on Costner, alleging that he refused to spend more than one week filming the second half of Season 5 — a claim that Costner’s attorney denied

“Yellowstone” has spawned several spinoff shows, including “1883” starring Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and “1923” starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren

Sheridan also co-created the Paramount hits “Mayor of Kingstown” (starring Jeremy Renner) and “Tulsa King” (starring Sylvester Stallone).

A title and casting has not yet been announced for the “Yellowstone” sequel series that will premiere in December, immediately following the end of “Yellowstone.”

The Post reached out to Paramount for comment.

“‘Yellowstone’ has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits – from ‘1883’ to ‘Tulsa King,’ and I am confident our ‘Yellowstone’sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life,” Chris McCarthy, President & CEO Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios said in a statement.
